5 tips for On-Page Search Engine Optimization

SERP-SEO-google-yahoo-bingGoogle, Yahoo!, Bing and other search engines have a large list of on-page search engine optimization factors they look at when indexing sites and determining ranking. These factors can be broken down into 2 areas; on-page and off-page factors.

On-page factors include the content of your page and the HTML source used to render the page for spiders, bots, and your visitors. The good news is that this is the easiest to control and modify. Off-page factors are related to what sites are linking  back to you, how popular and relative are these sites, and what text do they use when linking to you. I’ll talk about off-page factors in another post.

1. Title Tags

<title></title> tags are found within the HTML <head> area and will be used in the top of the browser and as the search engines displayed and clickable text for your page.
